Hi there! I am Michelle, aka Bubbles. When I was in second grade, I was a bored only child. As an avid reader, I decided that the most interesting characters in the books that I read usually had cool nicknames. So in my infinite 8 year old wisdom, I decided on the name of “Bubbles.” I thought it sounded just perfect! I began to call myself that and asked that all my friends no longer call me “Michelle” because I preferred my cool new nickname. I can’t remember exactly if they went along with it or not, but once I started writing “Bubbles Hamm” (my maiden name) at the top of my papers, my mom got a call from my teacher. My plan to become a full time “Bubbles” was over as quickly as it began! As an adult, it is kind of a joke among my friends since I do have a bit of a bubbly personality at times. And those that know me well are not a bit surprised to learn that I gave myself my own nickname!

But the general basics of me are that I am a long time stay at home wife and mother, married to my college sweetheart. We literally met when I had been at the University of Kentucky about 10 days, right after sorority rush. I was a brand new freshman and classes hadn’t even started yet. I walked into his fraternity house with a few of my new “sisters” and I saw him standing above the crowd–he’s really really  tall.  I always joke that he made me a little sick to my stomach when I saw him but it was in a good way, it was pretty much love at first sight for me. Once he finally looked down and noticed me, we started talking. We had our first official date to a fraternity function 3 nights later and have been together ever since. That was in 1991 and he still makes me a little sick to my stomach, still in a good way, when I see him across the room! Enough of the mushy stuff! Together we managed to raise 5 incredible kids to adulthood. I have always joked and said I wanted to write a book but never had the time…at least that was my excuse! So now I’ve decided to put some of my ramblings down in this blog. Who knows where it will take me. I love my family, my 2 crazy labradoodles, fine red wine, 90’s alternative music, a good cover band, dancing, and traveling, among other things. And of course finding great deals on Amazon!
